PRODUCTION’S NOTE

Saying you’re a film producer in Italy is like saying you’re an adventurer.

Eventually, sticking to the old school path and risking every bit  of yourself (finance) by, let’s say, producing a 19 years old director, that is the same as  saying “it’s folly”, the case history in the cinema industry.

But we did it, and with thrilling enthusiasm. The result being an intense and original story oozing with clashing feelings and a deep sense of humanity, which can belong to real life only. Like when, in your teens, you have to face the sudden, unexpected, unwanted maybe, responsibility that you’ll soon be a father, or a mother.

The story is a sort of psychological duel between two people set in one room, where the competitors stand within striking distance ready to shoot a bullet at all time, while the camera chases them around playing with their firing gazes. The photography rips their armours off at each round, bit by bit till, in the end, reveals the two characters naked, unarmed, alone with their own misery.

We fell in love with The Summer in Winter, but first of all, we fell in love with the fresh, poetic vision of Davide Sibaldi who wrote and directed the movie. A young and talented director truly inspired by the psychological movies and with an eye to the new technologies, which means making low-budget movies without giving up to his own personal interpretation of the world.

This movie was born from the will of a small group of Milanese film producers who really believe in the new generations of  interpreters, and have, therefore, engaged the challenge of creating real possibilities for the young, creative and innovative directors who, otherwise, would probably have scarce and difficult visibility in spite of their talent.
